I notice that if create tags in a paper and then make a new paper, whatever tags I created in the first paper are not carried over to the new paper. It would be nice if they were, particularly because some tags, such as @urgent are bound to be needed over and over again.
right-clicking on the symbol that precedes each line gives you a tags list that allows you to add tags? Quicker than clicking on the end of the line and typing.
tag lists can be custom sorted? Some little-used tags always sit at the top of the list under alphabetic sorting.
when you're dragging a selected line of text that includes the character at the beginning of a line, Taskpaper shows a horizontal line to show where the drop will go, rather than the current vertical indicator? I find my drops to reorder tasks sometimes go awry because I'm not sure where the drop will go.
a search or view can be placed under a new tab, somehow...?
sub-projects in the Projects list are distinguished in some way from top-level projects, maybe by a tab or font? At the moment projects and sub-projects form a flat list.
A few thoughts from a new and intrigued user, and former HogBay Notebook enthusiast.

I like being able to show just tasks with a particular tag. I'd also like to be able to show tasks without any tags. I'm using tags to denote level of progress (e.g. @started @halfway @done) and I want to be able to look for tasks I haven't touched yet.
It would be nice to be able to tag notes - that would expand the functionality of TaskPaper in useful ways. I see that when I try to add a tag to a note the drop-down tag menu appears, and I can choose it, but the style doesn't change to match my other tags, and if I search by that tag the note doesn't show up. It would be nice if it did.
Hello and happy New Year to all at Hog Bay,
Today I registered Task Paper and want to make my first feature request.
When I have clicked on a tag or run a search, I often have a list of tasks with other tags also visible. It would be super to be able to just click on one of those other tags and make that one the filter. As it is, one has to go back to "home" first. Thank you for attention.
Great program, super simplicity! John Louis
Hi,
I am not sure whether it's an issue or a missing feature, but both lists, projects and tags are not sorted alphabetically.
But beside that; TP is an incredible piece of software. Kudos!

Hi Jesse,
Just starting to use TP and really like it so far. Very nice work!
I have one suggestion regarding tags. If a task has sub-tasks (or sub-sub-tasks, etc.), it would be useful to be able to tag the whole thing in one go. The motivation for this suggestion is that as it stands right now, if I tag only the top-level task and then view that tag, I don't see any of the sub-tasks.
I can think of two ways to implement this:
1) If a tag is applied to a top-level task, all sub-tasks get the same tag automatically (or at least there is an on/off checkbox for this behavior in the prefs)
or
2) If a tag and one or more of its sub-tasks are highlighted, pulling down the tags dropdown and, say, option-clicking on one of them applies this tag to all highlighted lines. Come to think of it, that behavior would be useful on its own.
Of course, I'm sure there are other ways as well.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
