Hi!
I just purchased WriteRoom as part of the MacHeist offer. I understand from reading this forum that the Edit in WriteRoom feature doesn't work in Leopard and that you are working on a fix which is in beta. I can wait for this feature, but I am curious; do you have any idea how long it will be before it is available to the general public?
Thanks,
Rebecca

Edit in WriteRoom will be replaced by QuickCursor. If you go to the QuickCursor page you can download a development version... works, but is very rough. Unfortunately I don't have any idea when QuickCursor will get more polished. Probably not all that soon. My intention is to make QuickCursor open source. At the moment the sources are closed because they are all a bit of a mess as I was just trying to see what I could make work. But if some developer is interested in the project and wants to push it forward I'm certainly willing to share, and then it will be done sooner :) Let me know if anyone is interested.

Hello again,
I noticed your comments on another topic in which you stated that WriteRoom's attraction is that it provides a distraction-free writing space. I certainly agree with you about this, but please don't underestimate the selling point of being able to access that distraction-free writing space from within any software you are using. That is a useful convenience for many people, I'm sure.
I understand that you are a one-person shop and that you have to set priorities. I am a one-person business myself. As I said, I can wait for this, and I still do like the software without it. But I really think you would be tossing away a big selling point if you abandoned the edit it write room function.
Just my two cents.
Rebecca

Hi I agree with Rebecca.
I like to write in Writeroom, but without the edit-in-WR feature it somehow forces me to manage a pile of text files - or to copy-paste everytime I am finished writing. Especially for brainstorming or developing ideas over some time, it would be great if there was a seamless integration with software like Mori, or Evernote. edit-in-WR was just that. So I hope it comes back. Anyway I will try the standalone now.
[UPDATE]: ... tried out QuicCursor, exactly what I need, thanks! (looking forward to mail support)
Thanks! georg
