feature request: reordering tasks

taskpaper
I think it would be a great idea to have a command/keychord that would move whatever line your cursor is on up or down in the list.
Having tasks in the "right" order is a good thing.
Thanks.

Couldn't agree more, re-ordering is a big issue for me as well, but I'd like to be able to drag the tasks as well as moving up/down via keystrokes.

I think this would be a very usefull feature. Something a full fledged text editor like TextMate can do, but as an alternative you could always use cmd-X, use the arrow keys to get where you want and then cmd-V. Not very elegant, but it works.

Yes please!
Something that's a bit more elegant than cut/paste would be great.
I could live without a million short-cuts for indenting/creating a child task/promoting/demoting/etc. if I could just have move task up/down keys

The open source project Freemind ( http://freemind.sourceforge.net/ ) has a simple yet useful approach on reordering. The default shortcut is control plus arrow keys, so that "branches" can be moved up and down. Works like a charm.
In Taskpaper, the left / right arrows would also be useful to quickly change the hierarchical status of a given task.

So you know, currently option-tab increases indentation level, and shift-tab decreases it.
Of course, if you're currently at the beginning of a line, you can just hit tab to increase indentation level.

Drag and drop reordering along with cmd up/down shortcuts would be very useful.
