In the near future I will be moving all my apps to Leopard only. Tiger compatible versions will remain available for download on my site, but new development will be Leopard only. This will make my life easier and will give me more time to perfect my applications instead of spend it worrying about backward compatibility. Again the current versions of WriteRoom and TaskPaper will remain available, but new versions, including TaskPaper 1.1, will be Leopard only.

But surely there must be a 1.01 that addresses the autosave before that? I'm not going Leopard for some time yet. ;-)

Yeah, there will be at least 1 more TaskPaper release, it's just that the major work going into 1.1 will be done on Leopard. Garbage collection alone should save me lots of time and code, but it's not backward compatible. That's the big reason for going to Leopard only.
Also the version of WriteRoom that I just released support auto-save options. The upcomming minor release of TaskPaper will support it in the same way.

Are you still going to keep the Tiger-compatible versions of both TaskPaper and WriteRoom up for download? I'm sure that a lot of your customers who haven't migrated yet and either don't want to, or are planning to migrate later are going to greatly appreciate that; I know I would!

Yes, certainly. Each both WriteRoom and TaskPaper have a releases page (here's WriteRoom's)
http://hogbaysoftware.com/products/writeroom/re...
That provides downloads to all major past releases.
